Gujiya Recipe How to Make Holi Sweet

Holi or Diwali festival is incomplete without this Gujiya Recipe. This indian dessert is usually made during the festival of. You can make this simple Gujiya recipe in several ways using few steps given below.

Gujiya is a sweet deep freid dumpling made with semolina or maida and stuffed with a mixture of sweet end khoya and dry fruits.

The main filling for Gujiya is khoya or mawa. In India we do get khoya at stores but at my home we always used to make fresh khoya.

The crisp outer layer cracks in the mouth for the sweet filling to take on your senses.

Mawa/Khoya Gujiya Recipe

    Ingredients

    • 60 grams maida
    • 6 tbsp desi ghee
    • Pure ghee for frying
    • 500-600 grams for filling khoya
    • 1/2 tsp small cardamom powder
    • 25 grams finely chopped almonds
    • 25 grams raisins
    • 25 grams Cashew
    • 25 gms coconut
    • 350 grams or as per taste

    Important Tips

    Use more refined while kneading the dough to keep the dough soft and crispy.

    Fry the khoya on a preheated pan or medium heat.

    Use a mold to fold the Gujiya.preheat oven to 160 degrees to make baked Gujiya.

    Apply some milk on the edges and press it so that the edges do not open while frying.

    Make sure that there are no lumps in the lentils.

    6 Mix fine flour in table spoon ghee, then knead the flour well with lukewarm water.

    Now cover it with a damp cotton cloth and keep it aside.

    Now take a pan and mash the khoya in the pan and fry it till it becomes light golden and now cool it and add cardamom powder and sugar sugar.

    Now mix the almonds, raisins, cashew pieces and coconut in the khoya mixture well.

    Now make equal small balls from the dough and roll it out like a thin puri and fill it with ready mixture.

    Fill carefully and use light water on the edges and close the Gujiya and now using mold, press and hold the corners well and keep it out  prepare all such flour tablets and cover them with a cloth.


    Then heat the ghee in a pan, fry all the gujiyas until they become slightly golden when the ghee is hot.Now cool it out and serve.

    Ingredients

    • 1 cup wheat flour
    • 3 tablespoons Ghee
    • 1.5L refined for frying
    • Grated 1 cup coconut
    • 3 cups sugar
    • Milk 1.5 cup
    • Almonds chopped 8 to 10
    • Cardamom powder
    • Raisins
    • A pinch of salt

    Make Like This

    Put flour, ghee and salt in a vessel and mix all  the ingredients thoroughly. Now knead it with water and cover it with a wet cloth.

    Now add milk, coconut grated sugar, almonds, raisins, cardamom powder in a pan and stir and cook till the milk dries.

    Make 20 to 25 tablets of kneaded dough, roll each tablet slightly and fold a spoonful of mixture into it and press the edges with the cutter to remove excess material.


    Now heat the refined pan in a frying pan and fry the prepared Karanji until golden for 2 to 3 minutes, and after frying, remove and serve hot or cold.

    Ingredients

    • 1 bowl of Moong Dal
    • 1 bowl mawa
    • 1.5 bowl
    • 1 bowl ground sugar
    • 3 tablespoons Desi Ghee
    • 4 to 10 threads
    • 2 bowl sugar
    • 3 cups of water
    • 2 tablespoons chopped almonds, pistachios
    • 4 to 5 green cardamom
    • Refined oil for frying
    • Silver work to decorate

    Make Like This

    Soak the lentils for 6 to 5 hours. When the lentils are soaked, wash and grind them finely.

    Now heat the ghee in the pan and add moong paste to it and fry it till its water dries up.

    Make sure that there are no lumps in the lentils. Now fry the mawa too.

    Then mix the dal, mawa, green  cardamom, chopped almonds, pistachio and ground sugar together in a vessel and prepare the stuffing.
    Now put sugar and water in a vessel and prepare a wire syrup.

    To clean sugar syrup, add a little milk to it and also add saffron to the syrup.

    Now take refined flour and mix 3 tablespoons of refined oil and knead it softly.

    Then make its tablets, roll small puris and keep the mixture of lentils in the shape of Gujiya and close it.

    After that, fry the fried Gujiya in sugar syrup for 10 minutes till it turns golden in refined oil, after removing it from the syrup, decorate it with silver work and serve.
